IS VALUE A DOLLAR SIGN?

IS VALUE A DOLLAR SIGN?

Several months back I felt inspired to buy a wedding dress I saw online. I loved the look of it. It is very simple classy elegance. The dress cost $20. I would never in a thousand years have thought of spending $20 on a wedding dress!

This dress truly is beautiful and delicate but requires a new version of me to wear it. I had to lose weight and start toning for it to look right. I had to make some positive changes inside and out.

Many things needed to change about my body in a healthy way for this dress to even look right and yet it’s so right for me. The dress turned into my inspiration piece! It hangs in my closet day after day to remind me to stay on this path of reformation. This dress I bought on a whim turned into a true faith project. An opportunity for me to visibly SEE on the outside a work God has been doing on the inside for years.

The speed at which I have been changing has been shocking! So exciting! I am truly experiencing the impossible become possible and my feeling is this is just the tip of the iceburg in discovering what God is capable of in my life. If this kind of transformation is possible for my life then it’s also possible in the lives of others.

A few months after buying the dress an ad crossed my social media with wedding shoes that captured me. These shoes were created by a new Italian designer priced at $1000. I have NEVER spent $1000 on a pair of shoes in my life but I just love them! I also love the part where he is a designer using his art and talent to create. He is definitely worth being paid for his amazing talent. I also love how unique the shoes are! They seem to be a perfect fit!

Today I was pondering these things. I thought about the dress and I thought about the shoes. I thought to myself which item is more valuable?

Each item is very valuable in its own way but when thinking on this I realized the $20 dress is the most expensive. After all I have spent months, hours, minutes working on transforming myself. I have prayed, meditated, learned new solutions, visited doctors to game plan , had blood work done, Changed my diet, I learned yoga, stretching techniques and worked out. I can honestly say at this point growth had become so motivational. The results are so motivating! Goals are FUN. Growth FEELS good! The dress INSPIRED. The dress helped me to get motivated.

When the special day arrives to put on both dress and shoes. Each item will be so beautifully valuable and chosen for its own special meaning but the dress for $20 is by far the more expensive and valuable of the two. For the dress has served as an inspiration piece in reaching my highest goals for my physical health while simultaneously working on my inner healing and growth. The two go hand and hand. The shoes are just simply beautiful by themselves. There is probably a whole other lesson here. For now this lesson is priceless to me.

Sometimes we need to lose sight of the dollar sign attached and really look for the hidden treasure within. It’s OK to desire quality in life. Just make sure that you are not so blinded by the dollar signs or lack of them that you don’t see the hidden treasure. The hidden pearl. The bigger picture. As your soul prospers so will your financial life. ABUNDANCE is Gods desire for you. Just make sure your abundance isn’t about a dollar sign. TRUE abundance happens from the inside out.

True happiness cannot be bought. The funny thing is that the more content, grateful and joyful you become the more abundant you become in other areas. As the soul prospers the life also prospers.

3 John 2, the Apostle John says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
